Shriya Saran career rocking

Where the sexy Shriya Saran, who appeared opposite Rajnikanth in Sivaji — The Boss last year, is shooting for BT. Some street romeos, unaware that she is already hot property in Bollywood, try to harrow the actress with wolf whistles and comments like, “Sexy ho, Bollywood ki rani ban sakti ho!” Shriya, of course, chews men like them up for breakfast every morning. She replies, “Dum hai na mere main!”

No doubt, the success of Sivaji... and her newfound status as a hot and sensational property in the South has made Shriya confident today. “Sivaji was Rajni’s film, but being a great man, he let me shine in it. Working with him, I learned to set myself a benchmark. Though I often ask myself — where now from here,” the actress admits. Where now, is for Bollywood to tell the talented Southern star.

Riding on Sivaji’s success, she’s bagged several projects, including some from Hollywood. In Bollywood, besides her debut film Awarapan, Shriya’s in Sangeeth Sivan’s Ek. “Films were incidental. I call it an arranged marriage. I fell in love with films after I got into the business. I was grooming to be a Kathak dancer when I landed in a music video. That’s how it began,” she says. On the Hollywood front, Shriya has wrapped up Ashok Amritraj’s The Other End of the Line opposite Canadian actor Jesse Metcalfe. And how has Deepa Mehta’s What’s Cooking to look forward to.

Now that she is in Bollywood, Shriya’s big ambition is to star opposite Amitabh Bachchan. She revealed, “I met him as a fan when I was about 11 and took his autograph. He was shooting in Udaipur for Khuda Gawah. Recently, I met him at an award function in Bangkok and told him that. He was amused. I told Mr Bachchan, ‘I want to work with you.’ And he replied, ‘I’m looking forward to it!’” But she doesn’t really have any favourites in Bollywood. “I am greedy. I want to work with everyone,” Shriya admits candidly.

shriya best friends are NTR and Nagarjuna

“I’M exhausted working for Mallanna,” declares Shriya when. “Most of my films don’t take more than a month to complete. I like to work at one stretch and be done with it. I don’t like to carry on that association for too long. But with Kandasamy, I’m losing the connection because it’s been in production for more than a year,” she says. Why hasn’t she done anything big after Sivaji? “I’d love to do more Sivajis, but such films can’t be made often. I’ll be at my peak when I play more roles like Tamil Selvi,” she says.
When asked about her friends form film industry, “Trisha’s a sweetheart. Dhanush is a prankster, but fun. Reema Sen comes to Mumbai often, so we meet up. I admire Asin’s work. Nagarjuna and Tarak are in touch regularly,” she laughs. She agrees that can’t have too many friends because she finds the term overrated. “You can be friendly with people and go out for coffee with them. That’s it,” adds Shriya. Shriya, is sizzling on the cover of a men’s mag in a bikini. Another Mallika in the making? “I’ll never shy away from taking risks because you can’t get stereotyped. But I’ll never wear a bikini on screen unless it’s a Yash Raj film. You never know how you’ll be portrayed by others,” says the actress.

Well, what kind of guy will you fall for? “I like guys who have made on their own and are completely passionate about what they do in life. If anyone tells me about the huge business empire that you have inherited from your dad that’s a turn-off,” said Shriya.

Kajol replacing sexy shriya?

The sizzling beauty Shriya is one girl who started her career in the south and ruled the roost here for quite some time before going home in the north and making her presence felt. Today, she is one of the most sought after actresses not just in Bollywood but also in Hollywood and sky seems to be the limit for this seductive beauty when it comes to her career.

Shriya's upward graph has turned out to be a blessing in disguise for yet another north beauty who came in with a flop but slowly and surely she found her way into the hearts of the southern audience. She is none other than Kajal Agarwal.

Since Shriya has been busy with her projects in the north and internationally, her absence is being filled by Kajal and sources say that what used to be Shriya's position about four years ago, it is now the position of Kajal and the enticing beauty has been cashing in on her stand with equal smartness and sweet looks.

But all the young heroines who were approached refused the role. Sneha had initially agreed, but backed out later. Simran, Padmapriya and Vimala Raman were also considered, but nothing worked out. Now the buzz doing the round is that Tabu has agreed to play Shriya’s mom but for a whopping 75 Lakhs. If this news is confirmed, this will be the first time a mom character has been paid such a huge amount.

Wearing bikini is new trend for actress

The latest trend in Tollywood and Kollywood for heroines is to have at least one bikini scene in all their films. It was Nayantara who ushered in the craze for bikinis with her hot bikini scene in a Tamil film.

Nayanatra's popularity zoomed instantly and she went on to bag half a dozen films after that. Now many producers and directors are insisting on heroines to wear a bikini for at least one scene in their films.

Soha Ali appeared in a bikini recently. And that is for cover page of a magazine. The normally conservative Shreya Saran too appeared in a hot bikini on the cover of Maxim recently. Shreya is now an international star. She is acting in a Hollywood film too. Bhavana on the other hand is also trying to slim down and wear bikini in one of upcoming Tamil film.

Shriya hot pose in bikini

After Soha Ali Khan’s hot photo shoot for Maxim cover now it is Shriya’s turn to burn the Maxim cover and hit the headlines with her hot poses in a bikini!

Shriya doesn’t disappoint her fans as she is showing off her hot bod in a very skimpy outfit. Shriya, though known for posing in glamorous outfits this is something different from what she regularly does. Interestingly, Shriya these days is insisting directors from the South to come up with weighty roles that wouldn’t need any skin show. But what she posed for Maxim cameras is completely different from that.

Shriya is hot and getting hotter!

With an appearance in Mission Istanbul, Shriya Saran is finally being recognized in Bollywood for her flexibility and hard work over the last few years. Her career is now expected to move into the Red Hot Zone.

She started her career with a bang in Santosham in 2002, opposite Nagarjuna. She received her first award in 2005 when she won the Filmfare Best Telugu Actress Award for Chatrapathi. She also won the Best Hindi Female Debut Award for her role as Aaliya in Awaarapan in 2007. However, she really hit the big time with last year's groundbreaking movie Sivaji. Her star status was confirmed when the Hindu Makkal Katchi morality squad reported her to the police for wearing a clinging outfit at the celebrations for the movie.

But Shriya is very flexible and also works well in the English language - she's currently in two movies: What's Cooking and The Other End of the Line, which costars Jesse Metcalfe with whom, rumour has it, she is romantically linked.

How does Shriya feel about acting? "I love to do challenging and performance-oriented films if the offers come my way. I was lucky enough to get such roles quite early. I have proved that I can carry off well both in glamorous and performance-oriented films."

Audiences worldwide can expect to see Shriya featuring in Hindi, Telegu and English films coming their way this year.

How Shriya growed from tollywood to hollywood?

Many of us fail to recognize the steady growth of actress Shriya's career. Her career path has risen phenomenally and her acting in a Rajinikanth movie can be termed as the pinnacle of her career. The svelte actress has come a long way in Tollywood since her debut, starring opposite Nagarjuna in Santosham, which was a smash hit. She has done leading roles in many big budget films and has been a prolific and much-sought-after heroine in Telugu after that.

She also made sporadic appearances in Hindi. She became a national figure after she acted with Rajinikanth in Sivaji. Now, she has become so busy that she rarely finds time to rest. She has now bagged offers to work in Hindi films such as Ek and Mission Istanbul. In Tamil, she is acting with Vikram in Kanthaswamy. In Telugu, it is being made as Mallanna at the same time.

She is also working in two English movies, What is cooking? and The other end of the line (produced by Ashok Amritraj). Many actresses feared losing prime roles when they were approached for a guest role alongside Vadivelu in Indralogathil Na Azhagappan . But Shriya accepted it immediately. This not only shows her self-confidence but also her admiration for comedy actors. It is commendable for a heroine to gain this quantum of fame in such a short time. Galatta.com wishes her many more top roles opposite top heroes in many more films!

Shriya saren surprises everyone with her performance

It is not often that a man of Ashok Amritraj's stature goes out of his way to shower praises. But when it comes to the heroine of his forthcoming film The Other End of the Line, Shriya Saran, who stars opposite the dashing Jesse Metcalfe of Desperate Housewivesfame, Amritraj has only good things to say. When we caught up with Amritraj recently, he said, "Shriya will surprise everyone with her wonderful performance. The camera absolutely loves her." Shriya, too, says that the production has helped her get the best out. "They wouldn't let me use glycerine. I had to shed real tears, can you believe that?" Well, as long as the producers don't have to shed tears and can go smiling all the way to the bank, those tears would be worth all the effort.

Shriya is Miss perfect

Shriya Saran doesn’t like people to wait for her.

When we met her at a Delhi hotel recently, she kept repeating, "I hope I didn’t keep you waiting too long." And this for only a five-minute delay! She even participated in the photo shoot actively, choosing the light against which the pictures would come out best. "I love the camera," she told us. Looks like Shriya feels the need to execute each and every thing to perfection. She even relocated to Delhi just to learn dancing from danseuse Shovana Narayan. "Yes, I trained with her here in Delhi," she confirmed. Shriya also chooses movies after ensuring she’s in for something she believes in. She feels that it is essential for young actors like her to portray the country in a good light. "Before signing the Hollywood flick The Other End Of The Line, I was very clear that India should be portrayed as it is. I want India to be shown in a positive light. Don’t glorify or beautify it, but show it exactly the way it is now," said the actress, who prefers calling Bollywood, Tollywood and Kollywood only 'Indian cinema'.

Shriya says it really hot

The image “http://www.andhrastudio.com/linkimages/Shriya.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

South is all for fuller figures, while size zero has caught Bollywood’s fancy...

The scene is changing down South. Size zero is also pretty cool. It all depends on what suits an individual. Those who lead a life under the arclights, need to be conscious of how they look, without looking unhealthy that is.

Having delivered a couple of hits down South, you are all set to climb the Bollywood ladder. How different are the two industries?

Is there supposed to be any difference in the first place? End of the day, what these industries churn out is Indian cinema. Maybe the flavour changes a little with the variation in language, but there isn’t any major difference as such.

How was the experience of shooting for Deepa Mehta’s What’s Cooking?

This is the first time that I’m working with Deepa Mehta and all I can tell you is that we had a blast on the sets. Before every scene, the actors would also be asked to improvise beyond the scene and that helped us go the extra mile. My co-star, Seema Biswas, was also inspiring, to say the least.

How did the Hollywood film, The Other Side Of The Line happen?

It’s a simple story — director Ashok Amritraj had seen Sivaji: The Boss and gave me the script of his film to read. I liked it and took it up. We are through with the shooting and here too, I must mention, I had a great team to work with. In fact, I wouldn’t mind more such Hollywood projects coming my way.

If there’s a remake of Sivaji in Bollywood, who do you think would aptly play the lead?

Me, of course!

No, we meant the protagonist...

Oh, okay. Well, the movie is already getting dubbed in Hindi, why break my head over it?

Out-and-out commercial films like Ek, or parallel cinema like What’s Cooking — take your pick.

Ek is a commercial venture no doubt, but it wouldn’t be a good idea to categorise What’s Cooking, which is an entertaining flick with a strong message. In fact, I would like to dabble with both genres.

You are considered a Southern hottie, would you be able to live up to your hot quotient in the Mumbai tinselville?

This is something I really wouldn’t know. Let time decide.

Do you see competition in B-town?

I’m not here to compete. While Bollywood actors are flaunting their love bites err relationships, those from South are known to be more conservative‘Traditional’ would be a better word to use in this context. And I see no harm in guarding one’s private life. In fact, I wouldn’t like to flaunt my man, if ever I fall in love.

What does ‘if’ stand for?

That I’m single and ready to mingle.

Could you have resolved the Tirumala incident, where you slapped an errant fan, with Gandhigiri?

Well, there’s nothing that cannot be resolved with Gandhigiri. But what’s the harm in standing up for your rights?

The man was constantly shooting lewd comments at me and I couldn’t have tolerated more. I don’t even think that I went overboard.

Shriya Saran in Rajni Kanth‘s Robot?

Shriya is said to be the hottest heroine in Tamil after Shivaji. Shriya earned lot of applauds not just from audiences but also the critics. She is now the darling of many youngsters of Tamilnadu. Director Shankar is now planning to repeat her in his ‘Robot‘ opposite Rajni once again. Previously there were talks that Aishwarya Rai would be acting as Rajni‘s lady love in the flick but due to some dates problem she did not sign the film. Now Shriya has grabbed that lucky chance and let‘s wait and see if she could repeat the wonders again with this film called ‘Robot‘.

Shriya’s sensible move

Shriya’s sensible move

Shriya is being the perfect hostess giving parties to all the important bigwigs in the Telugu industry, directors, producers, actors, if they’re a name to reckon with she’s wooing them. The reason being Shriya, who rocketed to great heights after appearing in Superstar’s Rajnikant’s vehicle, Sivaji, didn’t last long in her high perch. Her career took a nose dive after some ill advised choices. Now she’s working hard to repair the damage by wooing the Telugu film industry’s pillars, as well the Tamil film fraternity. Her movie Bagiratha opposite Ravi Teja which ran for 100 days is now being dubbed into Tamil. This is the story of a young man who fights for the rights of fishermen who haven’t got their rightful dues from the government. In Tamil, the title will be Jilla, the supporting cast stars Prakashraj, Nazer and Vijaykumar. Hope this movie gives her career a wake call.

Shriya wants to go Nude

http://www.elcorreodigital.com/apoyos/galerias/general/bollywood_guggenheim/images/a1-722366404.jpg
Shriya is the dream girl for many these days. But very few know what her secret desires are. Shriya recently revealed that she has a hot desire to go to Goa and do you know why? She says that she considers that to be the best place to freak out with friends, as Goa is a place where no one questions you if you go nude there!
