Smart Tweezers™ is a handheld LCR meter of a new concept.

It provides a perfect solution for testing and identification of Surface Mount Devices (SMD) as well as for troubleshooting of complex electronic systems.

Its unique mechanical and electronic design combines a pair of durable gold-plated tweezers and a precise LCR meter in compact, lightweight instrument.

Smart Tweezers™ found its applications at Intel, RIM (Blackberry), Boeing, Los Alamos Nuclear Labs, Lockheed Martin, NASA and many other global R&D-intensive agencies and companies.

Handy Tool for Tiny SMD Components

Surface mount devices are usually tiny and without wire leads, making it more difficult to test and identify SMD than conventional components.

Smart Tweezers™ gives users an easy way to sort and evaluate loose components and to perform on-board measurements and debugging.

Precise gold-plated tips made of non-magnetic steel are able to pick and reliably contact even smallest SMD components (as small as 0201 format) or take measurements from the devices already mounted on a board. The probe can also be used to test conventional components with wire leads too short to insert into the test terminals.

Smart Tweezers™ greatly simplifies
testing and troubleshooting process

Automatic Component Recognition

Smart Tweezers™ automatically determines type of the component (resistance, capacitance or inductance), selects proper range and signal frequency for highest accuracy measurements. Manual overrides are available as well.

Unit’s display clearly indicates the type of the component, measurement result and test conditions. The primary display shows the present reading. The secondary display (on top) shows the present reading of additional parameters or measurement conditions when the primary display shows some other feature (L, C).

When multiple features present, the secondary display shows one of the values. The Bar Graph provides an analog indication of the measured input.

Resistance, capacitance and inductance can be measured with automatic selection of the test parameters and test range.

Default settings can be modified by navigating a set of menus with the Jog Dial button.

Meter's display can be easily flipped from the menu for left-handed use.

Ergonomic Design and Convenient Controls

Voltage Measurement, Continuity/Open Test
Diode Polarity Testing

Smart Tweezers™ features dual mode voltmeter function. In the AUTO mode, the DC voltage is measured. In the TRACE mode waveform of the AC signal is shown.

The unit has a continuity detector with the beeper sound for resistance reading below threshold.

Smart Tweezers™ can test diode polarity and indicate if the diode is short.

The unit can be used as a voltmeter measuring DC voltage and tracing AC signal.

Polarity and integrity of a diode can be verified by Smart Tweezers

Rechargeable Smart Tweezers™ and
cradle charger with contactless PowerLink
feature is ideal for intense everyday use.

Rechargeable Smart Tweezers™ with NiMH Battery
and Cradle Charger with Power
Link

Rechargeable edition of Smart Tweezers™ with NiMH battery is now available.

The option is ideal for intense users of the device. Perfect for production lines and bulk component sorting cases.

Our cradle charger features a unique PowerLink technology allowing contactless charging of the unit and easy retrofitting of the existing non-rechargeable units.
